The time has come to our first seminar within the I RedPES-RIPESS Workshop Series on Solidarity Economy! This seminar entitled “Solidarity Economy initiatives in Portugal in times of Covid” will happen on January 19th, 19h (CET time). We will be using our open source BBB (BigBlueButton) plataform. Pedro Hespanha (Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra/Ecosol-CES) and Sara Moreira (Open University of Catalonia/Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto) are our guest speakers and will be talking about some Portuguese solidarity solutions to deal with communities’ material and health constraints.
The pandemic is a moment of questioning ways of living and stirring up deep waters. Maybe nothing will be as before. In times of severe collapses, the mutual help, the valuing of neighbourhood relations, the sharing of affections and creative forms of collaboration gain more weight in everyday lives. Solidarity appears as a keyword.
The idea is to share with activists, researchers and citizens what has been done in Portugal, not only because of the Covid-19 but also because Solidarity Economy is a movement which came to stay and transform realities.
